Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his unique blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe. She has also performed at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang and was a pianist. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. It has been re-mixed and is now part of her repertoire. Her voice has also been a part of singing for The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was the main keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls which was a stage production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of attention during four daily shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
