Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman who is a businesswoman. She is the President and owner-controller of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native who grew in a well-off family. The father of her Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the owner of the Lakers and other sports businesses. She felt abandoned emotionally when her parents separated in 1972. She joined the family business when she was 19 to become the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Then she founded an organization called the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She was head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice president of the Lakers. Buss took over Lakers ownership Lakers by her dad in 2013.
